Each horse in Photo Finish Live has 6 attributes:
  • Start
  • Speed
  • Stamina
  • Finish
  • Heart
  • Temper
Each horse in Photo Finish Live has 3 Preferences:
  • Direction (Left / Right)
  • Surface (Dirt / Turf)
  • Condition (Firm / Soft)
Every horse has a grade or star count in each of traits which determines their strength for that trait.

Start:
Start is the speed at which the horse leaves the gate. It's the most powerful stat in short races (i.e 4-6 furlongs), but quickly drops off in longer races.

Speed:
Speed is the pace of the horse once it gets into its stride. It's important at short and middle distances, but drops off when races get too long.

Stamina:
Stamina is the horse's ability to keep running as its gets tired. The longer the race the more important it is. It starts to become valuable in middle and long races.

Finish:
Finish is the horse's ability to push for the finish line after a hard effort. It is the strongest stat at 12 furlongs, but doesn't become important until the longest distances.

Heart:
Heart is a horse's competitive spirit. The closer a horse is running to a competitor, the more powerful it's heart stat is. Heart is best in larger fields and in fields where other competitors are a similar strength.

Temper:
Temper is a horse's ability to focus and put effort into the race. Horses always have better and worse days, but a well tempered horse rarely gets shaken and doesn't drop off as much when it does.

Direction:
There are two race directions in Photo Finish Live, Right and Left. Horses that don't prefer the direction that are actively racing in won't perform as well as ones that do.

Surface:
There are two types of surface in Photo Finish Live, Dirt and Turf. Horses that don't prefer the surface they are actively racing on won't perform as well as ones that do.

Condition:
There are five track conditions in Photo Finish Live,:
  1. Fast - (Full Benefit for Firm Preference horses)
  2. Good - (Less Benefit for Firm Preference horses)
  3. Yielding - (No Benefit for Either Preference)
  4. Soft - (Less Benefit for Soft Preference horses)
  5. Sloppy - (Full Benefit for Soft Preference horses)
